Nevertheless, She Preached:

story of the two earliest Methodist clergywomen in Virginia

Available from Amazon in Kindle, audio, and paperback formats. Interview with the author. Video presentation

Years of research into the lives of Lillian Russell and Mildred Long uncovered two of the most remarkable women in church history. Follow their journey from the Great Depression through World War II traveling as revival speakers throughout Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina finally being asked to serve as pastors of local Methodist churches in Virginia. For decades Reverends Russell and Long, faced rejection and ridicule from clergy and laity. Doors were closed, rights denied, and opportunities withheld. For fifty years they prevailed as single women in a system that had excluded females for more than two thousand years.

You’ll be inspired by the strength they found in their relationship with Christ and their friendship with each other. You’ll laugh with them, cry with them, and feel their hurt, rage, faith, exhaustion, and strength. Your own life will be challenged and changed by them because nevertheless, they preached.
